Mr Dan Kaminsky

Dan Kaminsky is the Director of Penetration Testing for IOA ctive, a Seattle-based Security Consultancy. Dan has spent over a decade working to secure the systems of Fortune 500 customers, such as Cisco, Avaya, and Microsoft. His primary focus is finding, and fixing, design flaws in massively deployed systems. Best known for his work in 2008 addressing a DNS Cache Poisoning vulnerability that threatened to expose large portions of the Internet, Dan has also been one of a small group of external auditors to help secure Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7. He has recently become a strong advocate of DNSSEC, seeing it as the best way to address the fundamental authentication flaws that continue to plague software.
