    Seminar Details

Research firm Forrester revealed in a recent survey that half of all companies, from small businesses to large enterprises, cited security worries as the primary reason for not adopting cloud services, despite its attractive cost saving and flexibility benefits.

This presentation outlines the best ways of exploiting cloud computing for business improvement and how to measure and mitigate the risks this approach poses to your organisation. Redstone Managed Solutions will present a risk analysis model on cloud computing for organisations and look at what measures need to be taken to avoid key security threats.
In reality over the next three years cloud computing is going to be adopted widely, but there is always an inherent risk when an organisation is going through a period of change and therefore need to be armed with a watertight approach to avoid any negative impacts to their business.

Cloud computing has become the new ‘must have’ for business people, but how does this sit with information security professionals? How do we ensure that its rapid mass adoption doesn’t go down the same slippery path as CRM which was similarly pushed to the forefront of the IT agenda through business need, but turned out to be an IT implementation disaster?
The presentation will answer these questions and also analyse the merits of recent guidelines from The European Network and Information Security Agency (Enisa), for businesses to exercise caution when procuring cloud services and how organisations need to beware of lock-in to public cloud providers and protection from exporting data from one provider to another.
