    Despite strenuous efforts, many IT heads still struggle to get the board to see infosecurity as a C-Suite responsibility. While the largest organisations have got the message, many still consider this an issue to be delegated, with harmful consequences for investments in people, technology and executive time. Alan Calder of IT Governance explains how to change this mindset and embed information security within corporate governance thinking. He sets out how the harsh new Data Protection Act (DPA) compliance regime that comes into force from April 2010 gives directors a real incentive to listen, and how ISO27001 and BS10012 provide the means to turn good intentions into deeds that protect and advance the organisation.
