FireMon’s Risk Analyzer Enables True Risk Analysis and Better Risk Management Debut of risk analysis solution introduces a new approach to risk-based network security

OVERLAND PARK, KS — Nov. 30, 2011 — FireMon, the leading provider of security management solutions, announced the release of Risk AnalyzerTM, a network risk modeling and attack simulation system. Using a patent-pending, risk scenario modeling methodology, Risk Analyzer analyzes network topology and host vulnerabilities to help enterprise security managers make risk-related decisions based on a realistic model of their actual risk.

Security professionals can use Risk Analyzer to view the topology of their network, including the structure of their network defenses. Risk Analyzer can model threats against critical assets and simulate attacks across all vulnerable access paths, and then provide recommendations on how to most efficiently reduce risk exposure. The Risk Analyzer software can integrate vulnerability scan data, penetration testing results and other risk data to give users even better insight into their real risk.

FireMon’s new solution integrates with their existing Security Manager suite, allowing firewall and network data to be immediately available within Risk Analyzer.

Gary Fish, CEO of FireMon, believes Risk Analyzer corrects a major flaw in risk management. “Fundamentally, the security industry has not done a good job of measuring and, therefore, managing risk. The problem is that, as an industry, we have not focused on the correct factors in evaluating risk, and as a result our analysis is flawed. In fact, we may not be truly measuring risk at all.”
